Annual Independence Day Appeal

Join the cause. Support Fraunces Tavern Museum

For 111 years, Fraunces Tavern Museum has been providing the public with an authentic encounter with history. Every year thousands of people cherish the stories told through our five historic landmarked buildings, the events that happened here and our unique, 8,000-piece collection. Just this past year, Public Programs increased the number of walking tours, performances, and community events by 40%, and the Education Program served 6,000 K-12 students from all of New York City’s five boroughs. Soon we will debut our brand NEW exhibition, Fear and Force: New York City’s Sons of Liberty on August 21, 2018.

In order to continue this sustainable growth, Fraunces Tavern Museum needs your help!

*Through this appeal, our goal is to raise $50,000.
We hope you will join us in our mission to help keep history alive.

Since 1907, the Museum has been a place where amid the clamor and hustle of everyday life someone can refill their patriotic spirit and reconnect with history. At Fraunces Tavern Museum, we are dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history of the American Revolutionary era through public education. We do so proudly 362 days a year.

Through dedication and community support, the Museum has been able to achieve a great deal with limited capital in financial and human resources. Last year the Museum attracted 29,000 general visitors, a 16% growth in visitorship from the previous year. This does not include the 5,000 students that the Museum served through our school programs, of which half are from underserved communities. With the growth of Museum staff, including volunteers and interns, the Museum is achieving long-term stability and healthy growth. But in order to continue this growth, the Museum needs your help!

Beloved by generations, Fraunces Tavern Museum has been a place for stimulating education about the history of the American Revolutionary era. We ask you for your help in ensuring that the Museum will continue to preserve and interpret our history.

100% of your membership is tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
