Fraunces Tavern Museum is thrilled to announce our new special exhibition coming this November: Martha, The First Founding Mother Revealed. As part of our broader Path to Liberty: The Emergence of a Nation Semiquincentennial exhibition, it will present Martha Washington as never before, with highlights from our permanent collection alongside several extraordinary objects on loan.

This illuminating exhibition centers on Martha Washington as a leader, a role model, a maternal figure, and a trusted partner to her husband, George Washington. It will detail her emergence as a national figure whose influence helped shape early American ideas about leadership, patriotism, and public service.
