Episode 102: Lisa Goulet

In honor of Preservation Month, Programs & Events Assistant Mary Tsaltas-Ottomanelli and Collections Manager Lisa Goulet dive deep into the Museum’s collection, detail a major conservation project, and discuss the similarities and differences between preservation, conservation, and restoration.

Lisa Goulet is a scholar, curator, and collections manager. Born in Canada, she holds a BA in Visual Arts from Brock University where she studied art history, drawing, and photography. She also holds an MA in Museum Studies from New York University. Prior to Fraunces Tavern Museum, Lisa worked at the Climate Museum and Richard Avedon Foundation.

Lisa oversees the care and display of the Museum’s 8,000-plus piece collection. She conducts research on objects in the permanent collection; writes, designs, and prepares displays for exhibitions; and facilitates donations, loans, and image and research requests. 

Lisa lives and works here in New York City with her twin cats, Fred and George.


George Goulet is a ginger kitten born in Brooklyn, New York. He is two years old and was recently promoted to Curator in Chief of Fraunces Tavern Museum. George is passionate about sticks, his stuffed animals Ringo and Ducky, and snuggling with his mummy.
